RESULTS: U of M | Macalester | Drake Relays
The Royals put up record breaking and nationally ranked performances as the track and field team finished a busy week at the Drake Relays, the University of Minnesota, and Macalester.
DRAKE RELAYS
The women's 4x100m relay team of Jireh Babalola, Kelsie Sealock, Makenna Brown, and Sarah Stellmach ran a program record time of 47.35 and placed 8th overall. That is the 12th fastest time in Division III this year.
The 4x400m relay team of Sealock, Hailey Gregg, Annessa Ihde, and Stellmach ran 3:51.10, which put them in 6th place. That is the 7th fastest time in Division III this year.Â
Sealock also ran her signature event, the 100m hurdles. She ran 14.10 and placed 17th overall.Â
UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA
Annessa Ihde won the 800m in dominating fashion. Ihde sat on the leader through the first lap, then put a 3 second gap on the field in to win in a time of 2:14.64. Sarah Stellmach ran her way to 5th place in the 200m, with a phenomenal time of 24.81. That is the 2nd fastest time in program history and is currently ranked 19th in Division III. Stellmach also placed 3rd in the 100m dash with a season best time of 12.15. Ellie Hernes took 4th in the triple jump with her leap of 11.37m / 37'3.75".
MACALESTER
The Royals won the team title at Macalester, winning with 121 team points, ahead of Carleton's 83.5.
The meet was highlighted by Jessica Lilland winning the pole vault in 3.60m / 11'9.75", breaking her own program record that was set just last week. Lilland is ranked 31st on the Division III honor roll and is the top ranked MIAC athlete in the pole vault.Â
Ellie Hernes gave Bethel 3 runner-up finishes. Hernes took 2nd in the 100m hurdles (15.75), long jump (5.14m / 16'10.5"), and triple jump (11.61m / 38'1.25"). Her mark in the triple jump is the 26th best in Division III this year.
The 4x400m relay team of Abbie Swenson, Morgan Dean, Madi Pelowski, and Jessie Smith won the race in a time of 4:11.39.
Captain Anna Decker led the distance crew by running a personal best time of 19:15.51 in the 5000m to take 2nd place for the Royals. Madison Stackhouse took 5th place in a personal best 19:26.32.
Jessie Smith took 2nd place in a very close 400m hurdle race. Her time of 1:08.82 was just 0.24 behind the winner.
Josie Harms ran a personal best time in the 3000m steeplechase of 11:36.37 to take 4th place overall. AnnaGrace Nelson added a 4th place finish for Bethel as she cleared 1.50m / 4'11" in the high jump.
In the throws, Nora Wilhelm took 3rd place in the discus with a season best toss of 39.12m / 128'4". Wilhelm also took 5th place in the shot with her throw of 12.19m / 40'0". Molly Lukenbill was 5th in the hammer throw and the top non-DI athlete as she threw 44.55m / 146'2". Abbie Swenson took 4th in the javelin with her toss of 33.18m / 108'10".

The Royals continue their busy schedule next week with the Tommie Twilight on Wednesday, Hamline's Meet of the UnSaintly on Friday, and the MIAC Heptathlon on Thursday and Friday at Carleton College.
