DULUTH, Minn. – A neck-and-neck scoring battle saw the Bethel University men's hockey team come up just short to MIAC-leading St. Scholastica Friday evening in Duluth, 6-4.
The Saints tallied three goals in opening period, Bethel responded with three in the second before a wild third period saw the Saints out score the Royals 3-1 through the final 20 minutes. Friday's game did not see a single penalty called.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The shots on goal were an even 8-8 after one period of play, the difference was the Saints capitalized on three of those shots taking a lead into the break.
• BU came out of the locker room ready to responded as
Ben Ward and
Tyler Braccini scored within 12 seconds of each other in the opening two minutes of the second.

Braeden Bartoo evened it up with his seventh goal of the year 7:03 into the period.
• The third turned out to just be another 20 minutes of offensive onslaught from both teams. CSS took the lead back 2:29 into the final period.

Sam Wilhite got the equalizer six minutes later making it 4-4.
• The Saints would get two more goals in the final six and a half minutes while Bethel couldn't connect with the extra attacker in the final three minutes.
• BU outshot the Saints 13-4 in the final 20 minutes winning that battle 35-19 for the game.
