Gene Glader Classic (BU)
The Bethel Royals won the team title at the Gene Glader Invite and put up national level performances at meets on Friday as the Royals split their squad this weekend.
Eagle Open
Kelsie Sealock won the 60m hurdles against a national class field at UW-LaCrosse on Friday evening. Sealock ran 8.61 seconds, and is currently ranked 3
rd in Division III.
Sarah Stellmach ran an indoor personal best of 25.86 as she was the 2
nd collegiate athlete in the 200m. Stellmach's time is the 3
rd fastest in program history. Stellmach and Sealock were joined by
Hailey Gregg and
Mikayla Turek in the 4x400m relay. The quartet took 2
nd place in a time of 3:55.56. That time is currently ranked 9
th in Division III.
Snowshoe Open
Ellie Hernes was the top finisher for the Royals at the University of Minnesota on Friday night. Hernes took 2
nd in both the long jump (5.17m / 16'11.5") and triple jump (11.37m / 37'3.75").
AnnaGrace Nelson took 3
rd in the long jump (4.93m / 16'2.25") and 4
th in the triple jump (10.72m / 35'2").
Jireh Babalola took 4
th place in the 60m dash with her time of 8.00 (7.93 in prelims).
Josie Harms took 5
th place in the 3000m run, with a personal best time of 10:43.82.
Gene Glader Classic
The Royals won 7 events and won the team title with 181 points at their annual home meet, the Gene Glader Classic. Bethel won both of the throwing events on Saturday.
Emma Roethler won the shot put with a throw of 12. 79m / 41'11.5".
Molly Lukenbill won the weight throw with a toss of 15.28m / 50'1.75".
Hannah Moe added another field event win by taking 1
st in the high jump by clearing 1.45m / 4'9".
A pair of freshmen earned victories in the sprint events.
Ellie Hernes won the 60m hurdles in a personal best time of 9.38 seconds. That is the 6
th fastest time in program history.
Morgan Dean ran an indoor personal best 1:01.55 to win the 400m dash.
The Royals also won two middle distance events.
Annessa Ihde ran a MIAC-leading time of 1:37.85 to win the 600m, and
Esther Nelson kicked to victory in the mile with a personal best time of 5:42.19.
Bethel also earned several top-3 finishes.
Hannah King took 3
rd in the 60m dash with a personal best time of 8.32 seconds.
Annie Paulson was the top collegiate finisher and was 2
nd overall in the 200m dash with a time of 26.94.
Jireh Babalola was 3
rd in 27.46. After Dean's win in the 400m, Bethel completed the sweep with
Makenna Brown in 2
nd (1:01.78), and
Abbie Swenson in 3
rd (1:02.77). The Royals also swept the 60m hurdles with
AnnaGrace Nelson taking 2
nd (9.91) and
Ally Stackhouse in 3
rd (10.02).
Ruby Gernandt took 2
nd in the 600m in a season best time of 1:42.97 and
Anna Cargill also had a season best time of 1:43.58 in 3
rd place.
Evie Hage led most of the 800m and held on for 2
nd with a time of 2:27.78. After Nelson's victory in the mile,
Anna Hay took 2
nd in 5:42.27, and
Lydia Gessner completed the Bethel sweep in 3
rd with a time of 5:52.22.
Madison Stackhouse was 2
nd in the 3000m (11:29.80), and
Laura Hardwick was 3
rd (11:45.22).
Jessica Lilland had a season best jump of 3.42m / 11'2.5" in the pole vault to place 2
nd overall. Nora Wilheim had a collegiate best of 12.45m / 40'10.25" to take 2
nd in the shot put.
