ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Behind a season-best 43.5 percent from behind three-point range the Bethel University women's basketball team earned a 66-49 win over Saint Mary's Saturday afternoon inside the Robertson Center.

Bethel knocked down 10 treys, five in each half, shooting 39.6 percent from the floor. The defense held Saint Mary's to 39.1 percent from the floor and 2-of-11 behind the arc.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• Tied early at 4-4, Bethel went on an 11-0 run over a 2:53 stretch opening up a 15-4 lead.

Alli Born and
Rosalie Penke cashed in from behind the arc giving BU a 23-8 advantage after the opening quarter.
• A 10-0 run for Saint Mary's to open up the second quarter cut into the Bethel lead.
• The Royals were held to three field goals in the second, all three coming from behind the arc.
• Bethel built its 33-24 halftime lead shooting 50 percent behind the arc and 38.5 percent from the floor.

Second Half
•
Macey Littlefield's driving layup with 7:17 left in the third pushed the Bethel lead back to double digits where it stayed the rest of the way.
• The Royals expanded on its 50-33 lead after three quarters as
Anna Garfield opened up the fourth with a 3-point play.

Alli Born and
Lauren Johnson all had threes in the fourth.

Rosalie Penke each had a game-high 13 points. Garfield added seven rebounds and six steals while Penke had six boards.

Lauren Johnson contributed 11 points thanks to three treys.
