ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The Bethel men's hockey team earned a 3-2 overtime victory on the road Friday night against conference opponent Saint John's. An overtime goal from forward
Tyler Kostelecky gave the Royals the win and improved their record to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 against MIAC opponents.
The Royals fell behind surrendering the opening goal of the game at the 6:23 mark of the first period. Unable to answer, the Royals would enter the locker room down a goal.

Jack Brown– his second of the season– at 5:05 in the second period, tied the game at one and allowed the Royals to reset and take control of the game.
The go ahead goal came at the 11:54 mark of the second off the stick of freshman forward
Jeremiah Konkel – his first of the season – giving the Royals a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
The Royals surrender the game tying goal less than two minutes into the third, as the Johnnies connected after skating for a minute with an extra skater.
Just 42 seconds into the overtime period Kostelecky found the back of the net for the game winning goal off a pass from
Logan Anderson.

Travis Allen stopped 27 of 29 shots, including 10 in the third period earning his fifth win of the year in net.
The Royals head home tomorrow, Saturday, Dec.2 looking to take the series' final three points over the Johnnies. Puck drop is slated for 5 p.m. at Bethel University Arena.
