Royals Sweep Pipers

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University volleyball team got another mark in the win column with a sweep over the Hamline Pipers on Friday night in the Robertson Center. The Royals won in three straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 26-24. Royals improve to 5-11 (2-3).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
First Set
• Royals dominated on both sides, holding the Pipers to a .000 hitting percentage while having a .333 of their own
• With the game tied at 4-4, BU would go on a 14-3 run to grasp control of set one, leading 18-7 and never turning back
• The Royals forced the Pipers into six first set errors while having 12 kills of their own

Second Set
• BU once again dominated on both ends, keeping Hamline to a .024 hitting percentage, while they boasted a .294
• The Royals would go on a 7-2 run taking early control set two and never lost the lead - maintaining at least a four point advantage throughout the set
• Set two was finished by a kill from Marley Webb, giving the Royals a 2-0 set lead

Third Set
• The Pipers did not go down easily, as there were 13 ties and five lead changes throughout the final set
• The competitive final set was pushed out of reach for Hamline with the game at 23-22 HU; Bethel would go on a 4-1 run to seal the game on a come from behind win
• Royals offense showed their muscles again, with three different Royals getting a kill in the final four points, two of those coming from Dani Friedges

WHAT'S NEXT
The Royals are back in action on Saturday night in the Robertson Center, when they take on Wisconsin-Whitewater. The game starts 3pm.
