ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's soccer team picked up its second MIAC win of the season defeating Hamline, 2-0 at Ona Orth Athletic Complex. With one game left in the season, the Royals move to a 2-8 record in conference play and 4-9-2 overall.
How it Happened
• The Royals exerted dominance over the match from the beginning. In the 9th minute,
Sonia Meyer sent
Malia Beilby a long ball, and Beilby chased it down, dribbled up to the net, and slid it past the keeper for the first Royal goal of the game.
• The Royals came charging down the field again in the 43rd minute, and
Kaia Kennedy put up a cross right in front of the net. Beilby clipped the pass with the back of her foot, and Jessia Oliver knocked it in for her first collegiate goal.
• The Pipers came out hard in the second half, tying the Royals' nine shots with nine of their own, but
Kate Green and the BU defense held them to zero, sealing the game at 2-0, Royals.
• Green tallied five saves on the afternoon.
What's Next:
The Royals will travel the short distance to St. Catherine University this Saturday, October 28, for their final game of the season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
