ST. PETER, Minn. – In its final MIAC match of the season, the Bethel men's soccer team suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Gustavus Adolphus despite making headway towards a comeback in the second half. Now eliminated from MIAC playoff contention, BU falls to 2-5-3 within the conference and 4-7-4 overall.
How It Happened:
• Royal goalkeeper
Dylan Parkison had his work cut out for him, facing 29 shots but only having ot make eight saves during the match.
• The Gusties were relentless in the opening half, continuing to shoot again and again eventually netting goals in the 12th and 28th minutes of the match.
• After taking two shots in the first half, Bethel looked to even the score in the second.
Isaac Howell scored a header goal off of a volley from
Bereket Bereketab in the 63rd minute in what would be the Royals only shot on frame for the match.
What's Next:
The Royals will make the long trip to Lincoln, Neb. where they will take on Nebraska Wesleyan University in a non-conference matchup next Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m.
