ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel men's soccer team dropped their Senior Day matchup against their MIAC foe, St. John's University, 3-1. The Royals move to 1-4-3 in the conference and 3-6-4 overall.
How It Happened:

Bethel dominated the first half, taking 9 shots on goal to the Johnnies' 5. Neither team scored during the first 45 minutes.

The Johnnies struck almost immediately in the opening minutes of the second half, scoring on a lofty header goal in the 48th minute. They added a second goal to their score in the 72nd minute.

The game became more aggressive as SJU sought to defend their lead, and they received 7 fouls in the second half, one leading to a penalty kick.

Ryan Swanda took the penalty kick for the Royals, rocketing the ball into the back of the net for an easy goal and finally putting BU on the scoreboard in the 84th minute.

But the Johnnies retaliated right away, weaving around Royal goalkeeper Juan Valdivia Cortes and passing the ball into the net from close range, making it 3-1.
