ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's basketball team suffered its worst shooting performance of the year at a 25 percent clip in a 47-42 loss to St. Olaf Saturday afternoon inside the Robertson Center.

St. Olaf (5-6, 2-6 MIAC) was 34.6 percent from the floor while Bethel's (6-5, 6-2 MIAC) defense forced the Oles to go 0-of-7 from behind the arc. The Oles outrebounded BU 49-27.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• Threes by
Kendal Cox and Emma Schutlz helped BU jump out to a 6-2 lead before the Oles went on a 10-0 run.
•
Olivia Williams knocked down a pair of free throws to take the lid off the bucket, but BU trailed 14-10.
• The second quarter didn't get much better offensively as BU shot 3-of-17 and the Oles were 5-of-9.
• St. Olaf's Rachel Kelly took over as her eight second-quarter points sent BU into the locker room down 25-16.

Second Half
• The deficit remained in double digits for Bethel trailing by as many as 16 with 3:05 to go in the third.
• Bethel's defense held St. Olaf scoreless the last three minutes of the third allowing them to pull within 38-28, despite being 0-of-8 from three-point range.
• The Royals chipped away as
Colette Duininck got the Royals within two at 40-38 with 3:18 left.
• Free throws for the Oles though down the stretch moved it back to seven before
Anna Garfield hit a three with 14 seconds left.
• Trying to extend the game, BU fouled as St. Olaf hit one of two at the line. BU did the same on the other end not being able to get it back within a possession.
