WINONA, Minn. - The Bethel Royals are in 8th place with 14 team points after day 1 of the MIAC Outdoor Championships.
AnnaGrace Nelson earned 3rd place in the high jump as she cleared an outdoor season best 1.56m / 5'1.25".Â
The 4x800m relay team of Malakai Holloway, Ruby Gernandt, Evie Hage, and Grace Cole ran 9:42.81 to take 5th place.
Senior Ella Eliason scored 2 points for the Royals in the final long jump competition of her career. Eliason jumped 5.03m / 16'6" to place 7th overall.Â
Lexi Ellinghuysen earned one more point for Bethel, taking 8th place in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.38m / 136'2".Â
At the end of the day, Raina Moorjani added one more point as she placed 8th in the 10k with a time of 40:10.07.
The Royals also qualified many athletes into Saturday's finals. Sarah Stellmach (12.68, 25.74) and Jireh Babalola (12.42, 25.75) both earned automatic qualifying spots in the finals of the 100m and 200m finals. Hannah Sankey (58.10) and Britta Nordberg (59.47) each won their heat of the 400m and will run in the finals on Saturday. Malakai Holloway (2:21.90) and Evie Hage (2:23.60) both qualified for the finals of the 800m, while Grace Cole (4:59.05) earned an automatic spot in the 1500m final.Â
