ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – On a beautiful and sunny Saturday afternoon in Arden Hills, the Bethel University women's tennis team earned another big MIAC victory defeating the College of Saint Benedict 6-3 in the outdoor home opener.
Bethel took a 2-1 lead into doubles play getting team points from its top two doubles duos.
Grace Riermann and
Sydney Rott have now won 15 straight with a perfect 5-0 MIAC mark.
Emma Thole and
Rylee Schurman improve to 8-5 as a pair having won seven of their last 10 together.
Riermann didn't drop a single game in singles play picking up her 15th straight victory. Rott picked fought hard taking her opening set before narrowly winning the second 7-5 in a big time effort.
Elise Bierbaum picked up her third straight victory in straight sets.
Emma Thole kept her winning streak alive pulling it out in the super tie breaker. She took the opening set without a doubt 6-1 before dropping the second 3-6. Hanging in there down the stretch she moved her winning streak to five winning the super tiebreaker 10-7.
Moving about the .500 mark at 8-7 overall and 4-1 in MIAC play, the Royals hit the road Monday traveling to Macalester for a 5 p.m. start.
