ROGERS, Minn. – Rain outside forced the match indoors, but that didn't slow down the Bethel University women's tennis team who clinched a MIAC Playoff spot following an 8-1 victory over St. Scholastica.
Grace Riermann and
Sydney Rott stay undefeated as a duo improved to 18-1 with an 8-2 decision.
Emma Thole and
Rylee Schurman at No. 2 doubles went the distance pulling it out in a tiebreaker. BU went up 3-0 after its No. 3 doubles pair of
Elise Bierbaum and
Ingrid Goldstrand also pulled away in a tiebreaker.
Five wins in singles play were highlighted by Rott's super tiebreaker win at No. 2.
Emma Thole at No. 4 has now won eight of her last 10 battling to a 6-3, 7-6 (2) victory.
The Royals close out the regular season Sunday afternoon hosting Carleton at Rogers Tennis Club with a 2 p.m. start time.
