WINONA, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team hopped back into MIAC play being narrowly defeated by Saint Mary's University, 5-4.
Grace Riermann remains unbeaten going a combined 26-0 in singles and doubles play. Riermann teamed up with
Sydney Rott to capture BU's lone doubles point taking it 8-2. Riermann at No. 1 singles dropped only one game in each set.
Rott picked up a win at No. 2 singles for her fifth straight victory.
Emma Thole had BU's last singles point having not dropped a game. Both
Rylee Schurman (No. 3) and
Ingrid Goldstrand (No. 5) forced a super tiebreaker after dropping their opening set. Both dropped that third set tiebreaker by an identical 10-4 score.
The Royals, now 6-7 on the year and 2-1 in MIAC play, host their first home outdoor match of the season on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. against Hamline.
