ROGERS, Minn. – The Bethel University men's and women's tennis squad each picked up 9-0 victories over Hamline Saturday afternoon at Rogers Tennis Center.
The men's squad improved to 8-5 on the year and 3-1 in MIAC play with their second straight win. They will take host Saint John's on Saturday, April 9 at 3:30 p.m.
The women improved to 7-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play. They will host Saint Benedict on Saturday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
Super tiebreaker victories by
Jacob Lukkarila and
Luke Wyly highlighted the men's win. Both did so after dropping their opening set.
Steven Benoy only dropped two games in his straight set victory that extended his winning streak to a team-best six matches.
On the women's side.
Grace Riermann stays undefeated having not dropped a game.
Emma Thole followed suit with a 6-0, 6-0 decision for her fourth straight victory.
Sydney Rott went 6-2, 6-2 winning her sixth straight. The Royals had wins by default at No. 3 doubles, No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles.
