Balanced Attack Give Royals Fourth Straight Win

MOORHEAD, Minn. – All 10 players that saw action found the scoring column as the Bethel University women's basketball team picked up their seventh road win of the year defeating Concordia-Moorhead 72-56.

MIAC Athlete of the Week Hayden Glander brought in a career-high 14 rebounds while completing the double-double effort with 20 points. Makenna Pearson picked up nine of her 16 points from behind the arc. Megan Boegel rounded out the top scorers with 10 points in 13 minutes of action off the bench.

While Bethel struggled to find its rhythm behind the arc going 1-for-9 in the first 10 minutes, they only trailed 16-14 at the first break. The Royals quickly turned that around opening the second on a 12-0 run to take the lead for good.

Holding the host Cobbers to eight points in the second, BU took a 34-24 lead into the half.

The Cobbers had their best offensive quarter in the third going 8-of-18 (44.4 percent) from the field. Concordia cut the Royals lead to eight on three occasions early in the fourth.

Back-to-back threes by Pearson opened it back up for the Royals. Glander added 10 of her points in the fourth quarter alone cruising Bethel to a double-digit victory.

The Royals are back on the road Wednesday at St. Scholastica for a 7 p.m. tip.
