RESULTS
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - For the 1st time in over two years, the Bethel track and field team hosted an indoor meet with fans on Saturday at the Gene Glader Classic. The meet was highlighted by 7 event victories by the Royals.
SPRINTS
Bethel earned 4 wins in the sprint events on Saturday. Sarah Stellmach showed off her speed by winning the 60m dash in a MIAC leading and personal best time of 7.94. Bethel's Jireh Babalola was 3rd with a time of 8.16. Mikayla Turek won the 400m, as she took the lead in the homestretch, winning in a time of 60.07. Teammate Britta Nordberg was close behind in 3rd place with her time of 60.64. Bethel went 1-2 in the 60m hurdles with Kelsie Sealock opening her season with a victory in 9.08. AnnaGrace Nelson put up a season best performance in the prelims, running 9.32. Nelson took 2nd overall in the finals. Senior Hannah Sankey took 3rd place in the 200m with her time of 26.92. In the 4x400m relay, Makenna Brown, Sealock, Stellmach, and Sankey won in a season best time of 4:05.12. Hannah King, Ella Eliason, Ally Stackhouse, and Cynthia Garcia Balmaceda took 2nd in the 4x200m relay in 1:56.61.
DISTANCE
The Royals earned the top 2 spots in the 800m as Annessa Ihde and Malakai Holloway took 1st and 2nd place, respectively. Ihde ran 2:23.01 and Holloway ran 2:27.12. Bethel also got a pair of 3rd place finishes from their sophomores. Raina Moorjani took 3rd in the mile in 5:30.66, while Grace Morningstar took 3rd in the 3000m run in 12:04.67.
FIELD
Emma Roethler and Jessica Lilland each won a field event for the Royals. Roethler was the top shot putter by more than a meter. Her first throw of the day was 12.45m / 40'10.25"Â which was good enough for the win. Teammate Kelsie Fettig took 3rd place with a throw of 11.12m / 36'5.75". Lilland earned 1st place in the pole vault as she cleared 3.35m / 10'11.75". Sadie Koelz took 3rd place with her jump of 3.20m / 10'6". Bethel also got a 3rd place finish from AnnaGrace Nelson in the long jump with her leap of 4.99m / 16'4.5".
