DULUTH, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team dropped the back end of its weekend MIAC series with St. Scholastica Saturday evening, 2-1.
Dylan Giorgio had the Royals lone goal scoring his team-leading 10th of the year while Bethel was on the power play. It came at the 12:45 mark of the third pulling BU within one.
The Royals went with an empty net through the final 90 seconds getting four shots off, two of which were on frame and saves, one blocked and one that went wide of the net.
Division III's best penalty kill in the Royals went a perfect 5-for-5 while CSS was on the man advantage.
The host Saints got both their goals in the second period scoring 1:14 into the period and at the 8:28 mark.
Bethel hits the road next weekend traveling to Concordia for a key road MIAC series. Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m.
