BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Sophomore forward Zach Doely earned his first career postseason honor being named to the MIAC Men's Basketball Second Team-All Conference and the All-Defensive Team. Joining Doely on the All-Defensive squad is sophomore forward Joey Kidder.
 
One of the most effective shooters in the conference, Doely led the MIAC with a 61.7 field goal percentage ranking fourth on the program's single-season list. Seventh in the MIAC with a team-leading 15.4 points per game, he tallied double figures in 22 games this year including a career-high 28 points on two separate occasions.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, Doely averaged 7.7 rebounds and 1.44 blocks. He finished the year with a MIAC-leading 36 rejections. He was second in the conference with eight double-doubles.
 
Kidder was a defensive threat in his first full season with the Royals following a shortened experience last season due to COVID-19. Kidder averaged 1.3 steals a game tied for sixth best in the MIAC. Averaging 5.9 rebounds a game, 91 of his 112 came on the defensive side of the floor. He averaged 30.7. minutes a game aiding the BU defense to hold its opponents to 42.8 percent from the field, second best in the MIAC.
 
As part of a Conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, Sam Nelson was named to the 15th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men's basketball. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
