SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Bethel University men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong side of an 83-79 road decision to Hamline at Hutton Arena on Wednesday night.
The Royals fall to 11-12, 7-7 MIAC, while the Pipers improve to 13-9, 5-8 MIAC.
Hamline 83, Bethel 79
Bethel shot .508 (31-of-61) from the field, which included a .500 (10-of-20) mark from the three-point line. However, Hamline one upped them with a .574 (31-of-54) field goal percentage. Blake Schmitz had a lot to do with the Royals' stellar shooting with 24 points on 10-of-18 from the field and 4-of-7 from the three-point line as well as five rebounds. Next was Sam Gingras's 15 points, followed by 13 from Jay Neubert. Adam Mattes registered 11 points off the bench to round out the Bethel double figure scorers. Jack Charbonneau paced the Royals with 10 rebounds and two steals to go with eight points.
Raoul Vaidya had a team-leading 24 points, and three assists for the Pipers.
Bethel will travel to Carleton on Saturday, February 14 for a 3 p.m. game.
