Women Put Up MIAC-Leading Performances at Stout

RESULTS
 
MENOMONIE, Wisc. – The Bethel Royals put up several MIAC-leading and nationally ranked performances on Friday night as they competed at UW-Stout. 
 
TRACK
The Royals were led by wins in the 60m dash and the 4x400m relay. Sarah Stellmach won the 60m dash for the 2nd week in a row as she blazed her way to a personal best and MIAC leading 7.93 seconds. Teammate Jireh Babalola took 4th with a season best time of 8.09. At the end of the day, the team of Hannah Sankey, Kelsie Sealock, Annessa Ihde, and Makenna Brown won the 4x400m relay in a MIAC-leading time of 4:03.22. That time also stands as the 14th best time in Division III this year.
 
Bethel got a pair of runner-up finishes from Sankey and Sealock in their individual events. Sankey earned 2nd place with her season debut in the 400m. Her time of 59.10 is the 22nd best time in Division III. Sealock ran a season best 8.90 in the 60m hurdles which ranks her 8th on the Division III honor roll. Mikayla Turek (60.54) and Britta Nordberg (61.21) took 3rd and 5th in the 400m race, respectively. Annessa Ihde ran a season best of 2:22.74 in the 800m to take 3rd place for the Royals. Mikayla Erlenborn was the 3rd collegiate runner to cross the finish line in the 5000m run, as she ran a MIAC-leading 18:20.45.
 
FIELD
Bethel's top performance in the field events came in the pole vault. Sadie Koelz vaulted to a season best 3.37m / 11'0.75" to take 2nd place. Teammate Jessica Lilland took 3rd place as she cleared 3.22m / 10'6.75". AnnaGrace Nelson had top finishes in the high jump and triple jump. Nelson was 2nd in high jump with a leap of 1.56m / 5'1.25", and was 4th in triple jump with a season best jump of 10.84m / 35'6.75". Grace Perrenoud added two top-5 finishes in the jumps for Bethel. Perrenoud was 4th in the long jump with her jump of 4.96m / 16'3.25" and 5th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.65m / 34'11.25"Emma Roethler had a big day in the shot put as she throw a lifetime best 12.98m / 42'6", which made her 4th overall.   
 
UP NEXT
The Royals finish up their indoor regular season next Friday, February 18th, as they compete in the Snowshoe Open at the University of Minnesota. The following week brings Bethel to the MIAC Indoor Championships hosted by Carleton College.
