ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in a 66-38 victory over Macalester Saturday afternoon in the Robertson Center.

Nine players found the scoring column as BU shot 37.5 percent from the field. They held the Scots to a season-low 21.3 percent and 2-of-15 from behind the arc. The Royals held a slight 45-43 edge on the boards while the Scots held it on the offensive end by a 20-17 margin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• The Royals came out with the hot hand taking an early 8-2 lead through the opening four minutes. Five of which came from
Emma Schultz.
•
Courtney Nuest finished out an eight-point quarter with a fast break layup that gave the Royals a 20-11 lead after one.
• Bethel's defense held the Scots to three field goals and three free throws in the second half.
• The Royals worked it down low using points in the paint to garner a 36-20 halftime advantage.

Second Half
• BU's pesky defense was on full display in the third where the Scots were held to four points with a field goal and two free throws.

Lydia Hagstrom was part of the balanced attack as her second chance opportunity put the lead into the 20s at 40-20.
• The Royals limited their turnovers in the second half with just six.
• Lyida Johnson knocked down her third three of the afternoon with 2:30 remaining that gave the Royals their largest lead of the game at 64-32.

KEY PERFORMERS
•
Anna Garfield finished with a game-high 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting while adding eight rebounds.
• Nuest finished with 14 points, five steals and three assist.
• Hagstrom grabbed 11 rebounds, four which came on the offensive end.
