ARDEN HILLS, MN - The Bethel Royals volleyball team hosted MIAC Rivals Augsburg University on Friday evening. In front of the biggest crowd Royals volleyball has seen this season, the Royals beat the Auggies in 4 sets with scores of 25-17, 12-25, 26-24, 25-21.This game broke the conference record tie between Bethel and Augsburg with BU adding to their win column to sit comfortably at 13-8 (5-3). 

How it Happened

• Augsburg's offense was nonexistent early in the first set

• Bethel forced AU to use both of their timeouts before either team had even reached 15 points

• Emily Rossing had 1 solo block and 4 block assists in her first set back from injury

• AU held their first lead of the night after going up 8-4 in the second set

• Bethel's offense was out of character for the second set as AU took it with relative ease

• A 4-0 run from Bethel allowed them to take a narrow 6-4 lead in the third set

• A diving dig towards the stands from Dani Friedges led to on the of Bethel's most exciting points of the night

• Set three had a whopping 13 tie scores but only three lead changes, the sore was never more than three points apart

• In the fourth set, BU broke a 3-3 tie through a 5-0 run

• Both teams went on multiple runs of their own but AU couldn't catch up with the Royal's offense
