ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University men's soccer team started strong, but couldn't hold off the No. 8th ranked Gustavus Adolphus squad in the second half falling 4-0 to the Gusties Saturday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Gusties struck first finding the back of the net on their first shot attempt in the 9th minute.
•
Mathieu LaFrombois looked for the equalizer less than a minute later but his shot towards the upper 90 was saved by the GAC keeper.
• Despite a pair of shots form
Bereket Bereketab, BU went into the break trailing 1-0.
• Gustavus expanded on its lead in the 59th minute before adding another pair of goals within just over two minutes of each other.
• The Royals had three different corner kicks in the second, two of which turned into opportunities at a shot. Bethel finished with nine shots on the day, five of which were on frame.
UP NEXT
In need of at least one win in its final two matches to even have a shot at a possible MIAC Playoff spot, the Royals enter the final week of the season traveling to Concordia Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
