ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -Â Due to COVID-19 testing protocols, the Bethel University men's basketball contest against Saint John's scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 5 has been canceled.
According to the current MIAC COVID-19 competition plan any contest that is unable to be completed due to COVID-19 related roster issues on the assigned date will automatically be considered a forfeit for purposes of conference standings (a loss for the team unable to compete and a win for the opposing team) and declared a no-contest towards the overall record per NCAA policy. This plan was approved by the MIAC President's in October.
The Royals will thus be charged with a 2-0 loss and the Johnnies credited with a win in the MIAC standings. If a rescheduled date can be agreed upon, at this time it would be deemed a non-conference contest.Â
