ST. PAUL, Minn. – Freshman
Hayden Glander dominated the game from the start pouring in a career-high 25 points in Bethel University women's basketball 73-48 win at Macalester Saturday afternoon.

Glander put in the career effort on 9-of-13 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.
Makenna Pearson used four 3-pointers to help her score 16 points. Sophomore
Anna Garfield registered her first career double-double with a career-high 11 rebounds to go along with 10 points.

Facing an early 10-7 deficit, a layup from
Emma Schultz sparked a 13-2 Bethel run over the final 6:04 of the opening quarter. The Royals expanded on that lead in the second leading by as many as 19.

Glander exploded for 18 first half points while knocking down three shots from behind the arc. Shooting 42.1 percent (16-of-38) from the floor, BU took a comfortable 41-24 lead into the break.

Bethel's defense came out of the break strong holding Macalester to a pair of field goals in the third quarter. Five offensive rebounds gave BU second chance opportunities growing the lead to 56-30.

Pearson dialed in from long distance with 7:10 remaining in the game handing BU its largest lead of the afternoon at 63-37.

Outrebounding the Scots 56-34, the most rebounds for BU in a single game since December 6, 2014, all 11 players that saw time had at least one board.

The Royals are back on their home floor Wednesday hosting Hamline who sits just above them in the MIAC standings. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
