ST. PAUL, Minn. – In a tale of two halves when it came to 3-point shooting, the Bethel University men's basketball team came up on the wrong end of that battle falling to Macalester on the road Saturday afternoon, 72-63.

With seven players finding the scoring column, BU was led by
Isaiah Rollins with 14 points.
Zach Doely had another double-double performance with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tommy Jensen rounded out the top scorers with 10.

The Royals lived from behind the arc in the first half where eight of their 13 makes came.
Jaren Tschetter hit the back end of a two-shot free throw giving Bethel its largest lead of the half at 33-22 with 4:02 left.

A couple of threes from the Scots kept it close before Rollins sunk a trey on the Royals final possession. A stop at the other end of the floor and BU took a 38-30 advantage into the break.

In the second half it was Macalester who got the hot hand from long distance, while BU went cold, where they shot 48.3 percent (14-of-29) for the game.

Macalester took the lead with 12:43 remaining on one of its rare two-point opportunities inside the lane.

Bethel regained the lead with 6:01 remaining as Tschetter hit a turnaround jump shot in his first game back since the holiday break. But Macalester came right back at the Royals hitting back-to-back threes taking the lead for the final 4:19.

The Royals hit the middle point of a three-game road trip traveling to Hamline Wednesday at 7 p.m. Â
