LARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Three unanswered goals, two of which came in the final six minutes, paced the way for the Bethel University women's soccer team to pick up a 3-1 victory of Dubuque Saturday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
 
BU saw three different goal scorers in Rachel Waterman, Claire Radatz and Kelsey Bergan while Bella Heckmann and Callie Beck each tallied a pair of assists.
 
The visiting Spartans struck 13 minutes into the contest connecting on a shot from 28 yards out that went through a line of Royals.
 
While BU had its opportunities in the first half it wasn't until five seconds remaining that Waterman knotted it up at 1-1 scoring off a nice pass from Callie Beck.
 
Following the break, both teams picked up the momentum in aggressive fashion. That aggressive passion played right into the hands of BU's style peppering the Spartans goalie with a flurry of shots and five second half corner kicks. The Royals ended the match with nine corners.
 
Bethel finally broke the tie when Waterman cleared a loose ball to Heckmann in the Dubuque attacking third. Heckmann booted one down to midfield where the speedy Radatz chased it down before taking a shot just inside the box.
 
Now in an offensive rhythm, mainly thanks to the back line which allowed three shots on goal, BU added an insurance goal off the foot of Bergan. Her first collegiate goal came after Heckmann's corner was played by Beck who found Bergan for the finish.
 
The Royals take their 2-0 record on the road traveling to Wisconsin-Oshkosh Monday at 1 p.m.
