MORRIS, Minn. – Bethel University men's soccer team pitched its first shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory at Minnesota-Morris Friday evening. Goalkeepers
Colin Hupert and
Juan Valdivia Cortes combined for the 90-minute shutout.
It only took one shot for the Royals to get on the board. In the 6th minute,
Mu Ku Shi sent in a great ball from the life side of the box. From about 14 yards out,
Isaac Howell leaped right in front of a Cougar defender scoring his first goal of the season and third of his career.

Keegan Mellema picked up the assist.
Mellema picked up his second assist of the night in the 51st minute playing a through ball to
Braulio Tapia who finished it off into the lower left part of the frame.
BU outshot the Cougars 11-3 in the match while the backline only allowed two shots on goal.
The Royals put their 2-0 record on the line next Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. when they kickoff a six-match homestand with Wisconsin-Superior.
