ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Maggie Riermann and
Grace Riermann are set to compete in the 2021 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships where the Royals top doubles duo is one of 16 pairs who made the field. They open up the First Round on Friday, May 28 against Trinity (TX)'s Megan Flores and Cate Cushing. The start time will not be before 4 p.m eastern time at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The duo held a 14-3 record this season and have won eight of their last 10 matches. Their opposition enter with a 11-5 overall record and are winners of their last six matches. The winner moves on to the quarterfinals set for May 29.
Grace Riermann was also selected to compete in the singles individual bracket where she opens up against seventh-seeded Lindy Cornwall from Carnegie Mellon on Friday, May 28 at 9 a.m. eastern time on court 16. Win and she moves onto the second round scheduled to begin not before 1 p.m.
Grace recently completed an undefeated season in MAC play at 9-0 while going 13-2 as BU's top singles player. She currently rides a 10-match winning streak. Her opposition went 11-3 on the year, 8-3 as No. 1 singles, and has won seven of her last 10 matches.
