Royals Fall to Knights In 2025-26 MIAC Women's Tennis Tournament Semifinal

NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The No. 31 Bethel University women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision at Carleton in the 2025-26 MIAC Women's Tennis Playoff Semifinal in Northfield on Thursday.

The Royals fall to 19-3, while the Knights will advance to Saturday's MIAC Women's Tennis Playoff Championship at Gustavus with a 14-5 record.

"Tough loss today to end the season for sure," said Bethel head tennis coach Drew Fernelius. "We were so close to getting the doubles point and really think it could have changed the outcome, but regardless couldn't be more proud of the way each and everyone played their hearts out for each other today and all season."

Carleton 4, Bethel 1

The Royals were within striking distance of the doubles point thanks to a 6-4 win from Lauryn Douglas/Michaella Sullivan at No. 1. Douglas gave Bethel a point with her 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles before the Knights clinched the 4-1 victory at No. 4.

The Royals will await selections into the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Bracket, which will be announced next week.
