STARTING FIVE
1) The Bethel University women's basketball team closes out a three-game week hosting Saint Benedict inside the Robertson Center Saturday afternoon. The Royals bounced back from a loss at Concordia on Sunday, with a 66-59 win at Augsburg Wednesday evening. Saturday's games will kick off a stretch where BU will have three of its final four games at home.
2) Sophomore
Kat Brown-Erdal has been on a tear putting up 18-11-30 points in her last three games respectively. The Jordan, Minn. native is fourth in the conference averaging 16.8 points per game. Brown-Erdal poured in a career-high 30 points earlier in the year during an 81-67 victory over Saint Mary's.
3) In three of the four games this season, senior
Elizabeth Schwarz has led the Royals in scoring. Along with teammate
Kat Brown-Erdal, Schwarz poured in a game-high 18 points at Augsburg Wednesday night. Schwarz started the season on a high note matching a career-high 20 points in the three-point loss at St. Thomas.
4) Senior
Bella Williams has posed a threat on the defensive end where she ranks 17th nationally with 3.75 steals per game. With a team-leading 15 takeaways so far, she brings her career total to 214 putting her five shy of moving into a tie for third all-time with Taylor Sheley (2018-12).
5) Saturday's matchup will be the 76th meeting all-time between Bethel and Saint Benedict. Despite trailing the all-time series, the Royals are on a two-game winning streak over the Bennies taking both of last year's meetings in strong defensive efforts. BU's first win last season over CSB gave them a program-record 15th straight victory while they took the series finale holding CSB to 53 points and shooting under 30 percent from the field.
