NORTHFIELD, Minn. – A three goal halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Bethel University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at Carleton Saturday afternoon.
Carleton put an early goal on the Royals 10 minutes into the contest before expanding its lead with a goal in the 17th. The Knights capitalized in the 38th minute off a corner kick advancing its lead to three goals.
Bethel was held to one shot in the first 45 minutes which came off target by
Callie Beck in the 2nd minute.
Getting some looks on frame in the second half,
Abby Swanda got one back for the Royals scoring her first goal of the season in the 60th minute from just outside the box.
While BU kept Carleton off the board in the second half, BU saw its final two opportunities at looks come up empty.
The Royals look to snap a three-match losing skid Tuesday hosting Saint Benedict at 4 p.m.
