MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Bethel University women's soccer team was held to three shots on goal in a 2-0 non-conference loss at Wisconsin-Stout Wednesday evening. Â

The Bluedevils put eight shots on goal, giving
Izzy Smith six saves on the night, and held the shots advantage 15-3.

Wisconsin-Stout broke the scoreless tie 26 minutes into the contest scoring on a strike from the left side that found its way inside the far post.

Bethel narrowly had a chance at tying it before the break with four minutes left. A free kick from the far sideline sent into the box gave BU an opportunity until the Stout goalkeeper was able to get a handle on it.

The Bluedevils made it a two-goal lead winning a 50-50 ball at midfield before working it up past the back line and scoring from just inside of 18 yards out.

The Royals came up empty on two more scoring chances with corner kick opportunities in the 82nd and 84th minute.

BU looks to get back to the .500 mark Saturday traveling to Carleton at 3:30 p.m.
