ST. PETER, Minn. – The Bethel University men's soccer team had its hands full with No. 20th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Allowing a pair of goals in each half BU dropped to 8-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in MIAC play by a score of 4-1.
Gustavus didn't take long breaking the scoreless tie with a goal in the 7th minute before scoring a minute and 44 seconds later pushing it to 2-0. Bethel had its chances with five shots, three of which were on target.
About 15 minutes into the second half GAC expanded on its lead before
Ben Richburg scored his fourth goal of the year cutting the deficit back to pair of goals.
GAC added one more in the 80th minute holding BU to a minimal one shot on goal.
The Royals conclude the home portion of their schedule next Tuesday for senior day against Concordia at 3:30 p.m.
