WINONA, Minn. - Bethel University women's soccer team could not comeback after a two-goal deficit in the first half at MIAC-leading Saint Mary's Saturday afternoon falling 3-1.
Saint Mary's put an early goal on the Royals 14 minutes into the contest before expanding its lead with a goal in the 30th.
Bethel was held to one shot in the first half, which they connected on with 54 seconds remaining in the half.
Tessah Anderson scored her first goal of the season of a free kick from
Abby Swanda.
The Cardinals expanded their lead in the second half after a goal in the 74th minute.
Bethel was outshot 15-4 for the match and was limited to three shots in the final 45 minutes.
The Royals look to bounce back in another MIAC matchup at Gustavus Adolphus next Saturday in St. Peter.
