BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – A four-point weekend for sophomore forward
Josiah Roen earned him his second Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Roen helped the Royals to its first conference sweep since 2012-13 with wins over Saint Mary's on Friday and Saturday. On Friday he put in the game-tying goal in Friday's 4-3 overtime victory before a three-point Saturday night. He scored the short-handed game-winning goal before tapping in an empty-netter as part of BU's four-goal third period.
The Royals improved to 5-11-3 on the year surpassing the four-win mark for the first time since 2012-13. At 4-3-3 in the MIAC, BU sits in a three-way tie for second with St. Thomas and Gustavus Adolphus at 16 points. Bethel hits the road this weekend for a MIAC series at Concordia.
