ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The No. 4 seed Bethel University men's hockey team will host No. 5 seed St. Olaf College in the 2025-26 MIAC Men's Hockey Playoff Quarterfinal at the National Sports Center on Wednesday, February 25 at 7 p.m. A Royals victory will advance them to the MIAC Playoff Semifinal at No. 1 seed Saint John's (Minn.) on Saturday, February 28 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Both teams squared off three times in 2025-26.

Their first meeting of 2025-26 was a non-conference bout at the National Sports Center on January 3, which ended in a 1-1 tie before the Royals won the shootout 1-0. Tyler Braccini scored Bethel's lone goal of regulation at 16:14 of the second period.

These teams will battle for the third-straight game after the Royals took care of business 2-0 in Northfield on February 20 behind Austin Ryman's 37-save shutout, which landed him February 23 MIAC Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. Ethan Hull's tally at 16:07 of the first period, and Spencer Kring's empty-net goal at 19:30 of the third frame made up the 2-0 win for Bethel.

A 2-0 lead was also the case for Bethel in their game against St. Olaf at the National Sports Center on February 21 courtesy of goals from Joe Westlund at 19:58 of the first, and Ethan Hull at 3:22 of the second. This ignited a St. Olaf squad who outscored Bethel 4-1 from that point on, which included Willy Johnson's game-winner at 3:54 of overtime that sealed them a 4-3 OT victory.

DEJA VU
Bethel and St. Olaf also faced off for three-straight games at the tail-end of the 2024-25 season, which ended with the latter advancing to the semifinals via a 3-1 victory.
