The Bethel Royals are set to open the 2019 season Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m against the Simpson College Storm. The No. 10-ranked Royals are generating plenty of buzz coming off their 2018 run to the NCAA DIII Quarterfinals. Twin Cities NBC TV affiliate KARE 11, with sports anchor Dave Schwarz, will be broadcasting their 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. sports newscasts live from Royal Stadium following the game. Bethel fans are encouraged to wear white for the annual first game whiteout.
