Five Royals Tally a Goal as Women’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Five different Royals put a tally in the goal column as the Bethel University women's soccer team stays unbeaten with a 6-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior Wednesday evening.

Junior Sophie Kendall was the lone Royal to have a multi-goal effort scoring both her goals in the second half. Lauren Davis, Brooke Ogne and Claire Radatz were all part of the first half scoring while Rachel Waterman opened up the second half scoring for BU. Now 7-0 on the year and off to best start in program history, the Royals return home hosting Hamline on Saturday at Ona Orth. Kick off is set for 3:30 p.m. as the Royals also host Night of Nets selling t-shirts for $10 to help end malaria.

All of Bethel's first half goals came within 3:28 of each other. Davis scored her 10th goal of the year in the 20th minute knocking one in off the left post. Just over a minute later Ogne scored on a pass from Waterman who weaved her way through a pair of defenders finding Ogne just off to her right. In the 24the minute, Radatz rattled home her first goal of the season striking an impressive shot from the right side just inside of the 18 that bounced into the bottom left of the net.

The Royals matched their three first half goals with three more in the second while outshooting UWS 40-1 in the match where 26 of them came on goal.

Waterman tallied a goal for the third straight match tapping in a rebound shot 12 minutes into the second half. Kendall went back-to-back in the 64th and 69th minute. Her first goal of the night came off a send in from Tessah Anderson who tallied her team-leading fifth assist of the season.
