Four Royals Score in Bethel’s Midweek Victory over Finlandia

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Four different Royals found the back of the net in Wednesday's 4-0 non-conference victory against Finlandia at Ona Orth Athletic Complex. Goals by Sierra Smith, Claire Radatz, Jess Van Wyk and Rachel Waterman all contributed to improving Bethel to 9-2 on the year. The Royals head back into conference playing taking on Saint Mary's in Winona Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Smith picked up her first collegiate goal in an impressive way taking it herself the entire way. In the 10th minute she picked off a Lions pass at midfield dribbling it all the way down the left side past a pair of defenders. Finding herself just inside the box Smith found the upper 90 putting the Royals on the board.

In the 18th minute, Brooke Ogne assisted Radatz in scoring her third goal of the season. From the middle of the pitch Ogne gave a nice lead pass to Radatz up the near sideline before Radatz worked into the box giving Bethel a two-goal lead.

Van Wyk got in on the scoring action in the 64th minute sending a strike to the upper 90 from 47 yards out. Waterman pushed the lead to 4-0 beating the keeper 1-on-1 just 34 seconds later. Picking up the assist was Lauren Davis who pushed it forward allowing Waterman to do her thing.

Bethel outshot the Lions 28-2 for the match and 19-2 in shots on goal.
