The No. 6-ranked and unbeaten Bethel University Royals will travel up I-94 on Saturday to face the No. 4-ranked and unbeaten Saint John's University Johnnies in a rare Top 10 clash. The Royals and Johnnies were the only two MIAC teams to compete in the 2018 NCAA playoffs as both won two playoff games and were part of the final eight teams in 2018. The Royals and Johnnies both feature high powered offenses that rank at or near the top of the MIAC in every major statistical category. The last time both teams where ranked in the Top 10 entering their matchup was in 2003, a game which still lives in lore as the Johnnies scored late to pull out a 29-26 victory over Bethel in front of 13,107 fans (an NCAA DIII record at the time) on a snowy November day. Since 1999 Bethel and SJU have waged a great rivalry with Bethel winning nine times (including a period of seven wins in eight years from 2006-2013) and SJU winning 11 times (including current five game win streak). SJU holds a 30-9 all-time advantage over Bethel, thanks in large part to the first 20 games from 1978-1998 that went the way of the Johnnies. Saturday's kickoff will take place at 1 p.m. from Clemens Stadium on the SJU campus in Collegeville, Minnesota.  Â
