ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team dominated Bethany Lutheran College Thursday afternoon, racking up eight goals while limiting the Vikings to just three total shots and zero scores for an 8-0 victory. The Royals got off 19 shots on goal and 38 shots total while two of BLC's three shots were on goal but both were stopped by freshman goalkeeper
Hannah Van Sickle.
Brooke Ogne got the scoring started for Bethel just nine minutes into the game. Ogne would add a second goal two minutes into the second half as well. Freshman
Rachel Waterman scored her first two collegiate goals with back-to-back scores in the 10
th and 24
th minutes to give Bethel a 3-0 lead they would take into the half. The Royals continued to poor it on in the second period starting with Ogne's goal. Bethel scored four more times in all with
Sydney Wight,
Karlie Perkins,
Lauren Davis and
Kenzie Boozikee tallying the goals.
Britney Monteon assisted on three of the Royals eight goals.
The win improves Bethel's record to 2-1 on the season. The Royals will return to the friendly confines of the Ona Orth Athletic Complex again on Friday afternoon with a matchup against Northland College at 4 p.m.
