Monteon's Big Day Lifts Bethel to 4-0 Win Over St. Kate's

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team defeated St. Catherine's University behind a huge day from senior transfer Britney Monteon. All four of Bethel's goals had Monteon's imprints as she scored twice herself and assisted on the other two goals.

The Royals started out strong as they outshot the Wildcats 7-1 in the first half. Monteon got the scoring started with her first goal in the 14th minute off an assist by Brooke Ogne. Rachel Waterman, the Royals outstanding freshman, then scored off an assist from Monteon at 35:10 in the first half. The game stayed 2-0 until Monteon scored again in the 82nd minute. Just 32 seconds later Karlie Perkins scored the Royals fourth and final goal with an assist from Monteon. Kaylee Peterson made five saves in net for Bethel in earning the shutout.

Bethel improves to 6-2 on the year and 2-1 in the MIAC. They travel to New Ulm, Minnesota on Monday for a non-conference matchup with the Knights of Martin Luther College before returning home for a Wednesday matinee against Saint Mary's University.
