ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team did not let the constant rain Tuesday afternoon slow them down as they took a 2-0 victory over the Hamline University Pipers. The Royals scored once in each half in winning for the sixth time in their last seven games (the other was a tie at Saint Benedict).
Maggie Sipe scored the Royals first half goal and
Karlie Perkins headed in the second goal for Bethel.
Kaylee Peterson made six saves to get the shutout in goal. Bethel outshot HU 15-10 and 10-6 in shots on goal.
The win improves Bethel to 10-2-1 overall and the Royals stay tied for second in the MIAC at 5-1-1. Hamline falls to 4-8-1 and 1-6-0 in the MIAC. Next up for Bethel is a Saturday night matchup at Macalester. The Royals and Scots will kick off at approximately 7:30 p.m. following the men's game.
