ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Gustavus Adolphus College to cap off Homecoming day action at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The Gusties scored the games first three goals before Bethel was able to get a score of their own by
Brendan Reich. The Gusties scored twice in the first half in the 13th and 20th minutes to build a 2-0 lead. The two teams combined for just nine shots on goal in the game, with the Gusties holding the slight 5-4 advantage. Bethel outshot the league leading Gusties 4-2 in the second half.
The loss drops Bethel to 3-9 overall on the season and 0-5 in MIAC play. Gustavus sits atop the MIAC at 5-0-1 and 9-1-1 overall. Next up for Bethel is a trip to Hamline on Wednesday, October 10th for a 4 p.m. battle with the Pipers.
