Royals Keep Rolling with 2-0 Win Over Carleton

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team kept up with their winning ways as they improved to 12-2-1 on the year by defeating Carleton College 2-0. The Royals scored both of their goals in the first half and limited the Knights to just one shot on goal for the game. Rebecca Brubaker scored the first goal for Bethel off a corner kick by Britney Monteon during the 17th minute. Monteon then scored herself with just under five minutes remaining in the first half with Karlie Perkins getting the assist. Kaylee Peterson stopped the lone shot on goal she faced, as the Royals defense limited Carleton to just 10 total shot attempts for the game. The Royals put 10 shots on goal in 15 attempts.

The win along with a loss by first place St. Thomas allows the Royals to control their own destiny in regards to the regular season MIAC championship. Bethel's final two games are against Concordia and St. Thomas next Wednesday and Saturday. The Royals will host the Cobbers of Concordia on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
