ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team traveled to St. Catherine's University Saturday afternoon and despite outshooting the Wildcats on the day, fell by a 2-0 score. SCU scored once in each half while the Royals were shutout despite getting 20 shots off, 10 on goal. The Wildcats had 18 shots but just four on goal with two finding their way in the back of the net.
The Wildcats first goal came in the 32nd minute while the second came in the 52nd minute off of a header from a corner kick. St. Kate's generated seven corner kicks to four for the Royals.
The loss drops Bethel to 3-4-1 overall and 0-3 in the MIAC. St. Kate's improved to 1-4-1 and 1-1-1 in the MIAC. Next for the Royals is a trip to Winona, Minnesota to take on Saint Mary's University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
