Week 3 Preview: Bethel Travels to Concordia for Conference Opener

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Bethel University's football team opens conference play Saturday, September 16 at Concordia College. Saturday's matchup featuring the Cobbers and Royals is the 40th meeting between these two opponents. Concordia leads the head-to-head series with a 24-15 record, but Bethel has been victorious in five of the last seven matchups and 12 of the last 17 games since the turn of the century. BU and the Cobbers are scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m.

Concordia handed Bethel a 21-13 setback in Arden Hills one year ago. The two teams were tied at 7-7 going into the half, but the Cobbers managed to go ahead 21-7 with 14:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Royals cut the score to 21-13 with 4:06 remaining and got the ball back with 3:33 left, but were ultimately stopped on the Concordia 27 yard-line.
