COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.—The 4x400-meter relay broke the four-minute barrier for the first time since the 2014 season, winning the St. Ben's/St. John's Outdoor Invitational Saturday.

Erin Alpers and
AddieKay Johnson combined to run 3:57.31, the 10th-fastest time in DIII this season.
The performance leads the MIAC by over 10 seconds, and vaults the quartet to fourth on the Bethel all-time list.
In the open 400 meters, Johnson and Wegner provided a 1-2 finish. Johnson's time of 58.59 seconds was a season best and is the third-fastest time in the MIAC this year. Wegner's runner-up time was 59.99. She ranks fourth in the MIAC with her 59.79, run in the season-opener.
Alpers finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.62.
Courtney Hlavka led the Royals' field event contingent at the meet, winning the javelin throw with a mark of 119-9 (36.50 meters). Hlavka's toss makes her the sixth-best performer in the MIAC and puts her third on Bethel's all-time performance list.
